Adapted by Lindsay Price from Chaucer
Directed by Melanie Marty
When that February his quarantine come,
The drought of live theatre for everyone,
And bathed every stage with dark,
Of which dampens the creative spark,
When Chaucer appears with sweet breath,
Inspired hath the players risen from death.
The young Zoom and the historic Town and Gown
Hath run a cast of players down.
And the use of props and costumes from here and there
That cover the pj bottoms the actors wear.
So, all gather table cloths of green,
Then over 30 folk log on to film their scene.
And though there be a few obstacles they meet,
To cause the actors to rise from their chairs to their feet,
And be it possible that connections may lag,
Of a great amount of scenes and takes they have.
And so with great pride and pleasure intent,
The Canterbury Tales The Town and Gown Players present.
